On November 8 and 15, 2024, the Faculty of Information Engineering at Meijo University held prize ceremonies for the “paiza Rank Challenge 2024,” a project to support students in their programming studies.

The “paiza Rank Challenge 2024” is a joint project between paiza, Inc. and Faculty of Information Engineering at Meijo University for first-year students, aiming to help them acquire independent programming skills, primarily during the summer vacation period (July 2024 to October 2024).
Students work on “paiza learning,” an online programming learning platform provided by paiza, Inc., and compete in terms of skill-rank and number of skill checks.
The top five winners who achieve a high rank will receive the Rank Prize, and the top five winners with the highest number of skill-check attempts will receive the Trophy Prize.
At the prize ceremony, the Rank Prize and the Trophy Prize winners were presented with a certificate of merit and a T-shirt specially made by paiza, Inc. as a complimentary gift.

Some of the Rank Prize winners had been involved in programming since high school, while others had started programming at university for the first time and had achieved the higher ranks of S and A.
Since this year’s project was for first-year students, this means that they acquired the higher ranks immediately after learning programming for the first time in the first semester.
One of the Trophy Prize winners commented, “I was not very good at programming, but I was surprised and at the same time very happy to receive the prize for the results of my diligent work during the summer vacation.”
We look forward to seeing the future success of the students, including the prize winners!
The Faculty of Information Engineering at Meijo University focuses on cultivating talent with advanced skills and knowledge in information technology, including programming, which is essential for society in the age of AI and data science.
